Giving Power: E.ON UK gives colleagues paid time to support local communities through new volunteering programme
- E.ON UK has today (6 August) launched a new employee scheme, ’The Energy Exchange’, which gives staff the ability to use a paid day to volunteer for a cause close to their heart
- Employees can choose from a wide range of existing opportunities available on the Neighbourly platform and nominate a good cause that matters to them
- The energy supplier and sustainable solutions provider was recently ranked in the Sunday Times Top 10 Best Places to Work in the UK for the second year in a row.
More than 9,000 E.ON UK employees can now dedicate a paid working day each year to support charities, community groups and local causes through the company's new volunteering programme, The Energy Exchange.
The launch comes just months after E.ON was named among the Top 10 of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the UK, being highly recommended in the Best Places to Work for Women category.
The Energy Exchange is an employee benefits scheme that allows individuals or teams to spend time volunteering for a local good cause. The programme is powered by Neighbourly, an award-winning giving platform that enables businesses to deliver targeted local impact across the UK and Ireland.
By providing dedicated time to support local charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations, the initiative helps address local needs while reinforcing the energy supplier’s role as a responsible and trusted community partner. The volunteering programme supports E.ON’s commitment to creating positive social impact in the communities it serves and is expected to deliver benefits nationwide.
The programme is the latest way in which E.ON is investing in the inclusive workforce it needs to lead the energy transition in the UK, by making volunteering more accessible and impactful and enabling employees to develop new skills, strengthen wellbeing and foster meaningful connections across teams.
