E.ON UK responds to the publication of the Future Homes Standard

Responding to the Government's publication of the Future Homes Standard, Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, said:

“We are pleased to see the publication of the Future Homes Standard, which we are now reviewing in detail.

“Through the provision of low-carbon technologies the UK can achieve lower energy bills, greater energy security, and its clean power mission. But it’s vital that these solutions are connected. While it’s encouraging to see that every home not connected to a low-carbon heat network will have a heat pump, households must also have the means to generate and store the electricity needed to run them.

“E.ON research shows that three quarters of UK adults would rather buy a new house with solar panels than one without. Amid surging wholesale prices and the clear need for greater resilience, people want homes that aren’t just energy efficient on paper but can deliver lower bills now and in the future.”
