E.ON UK responds to VAT cut on energy bills to ease cost of living

Responding to Prime Minister Andy Burnham's announcement on cutting VAT on electricity bills, CEO of E.ON UK Chris Norbury says:

“We welcome the Prime Minister’s decision to cut VAT on household electricity bills and are ready to work with Government to make sure further reforms land where they matter – directly in customers’ pockets.

“The maximum value from the energy transition has to be felt by residential customers. As a retailer, that’s the approach E.ON takes every single day. Place-based approaches, innovative tariffs, and projects that help the people who need it most. Through flexibility, we can put people in control of their energy use and sustainably lower bills.

“That’s what making new energy work for everyone really means and how we make sure the benefit reaches people directly now, not decades down the line, and not as a promise on a page.”
