E.ON UK responds to introduction of October price cap
From 1 October to 31 December 2026, the Energy Price Cap will be £1,723 per year, an increase of 4% compared to the last price cap period.
Responding to the increase to the Energy Price Cap, Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, said:
"The latest increase in the energy price cap will worry customers who are already feeling the pressure, which is why the removal of VAT from domestic electricity bills is a welcome step. Targeted support and action to tackle growing energy debt must also form part of the solution, alongside the rapid deployment of Warm Homes Plan funding to help more households access the technologies and support they need.
"To sustainably lower bills, we must open up the benefits of flexible, connected technologies such as batteries and solar, which put people in control of their energy use and help lower bills now and in the future. That's how we can make new energy work and ensure no one is left behind."
Notes to editors
Prices and comparisons quoted correct at time of issue and based on an average dual fuel bill using OFGEM's definitions of medium use typical domestic consumption values of 2,500kWh for electricity and 9,500kWh for gas.
