E.ON launches 2025 Inclusion Report, showcasing action, impact and ambition towards a fairer, more inclusive energy future

E.ON has published Powering Belonging, our 2025 Inclusion Report, continuing the progress in building a workplace, and an energy system, where everyone feels they belong.

As the UK accelerates towards a cleaner, fairer and more affordable energy future, E.ON’s report shows how inclusion, colleague wellbeing and equitable opportunity are driving better outcomes for customers, communities and the energy transition.

Inclusion as the foundation of a fair energy system

Chris Norbury

Launching the report, Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, reinforced the central role inclusion plays in transforming the UK's energy landscape: “Inclusion is not an optional extra – it is the foundation of a fair energy system and a resilient business.”

He emphasised that E.ON’s transformation is powered by its people. “When colleagues feel empowered, we deliver better services, stronger relationships, and smarter solutions for the energy transition. Belonging drives innovation, trust and resilience, which are qualities our sector and our society need now more than ever.”

Through dedicated colleague networks, forward-thinking policies and social impact partnerships, E.ON continues to show how fairness at work translates directly to fairness for customers.

A workplace where people feel seen, heard and valued

Reflecting on the progress made in the last year, Helen Bradbury, Chief People Officer at E.ON UK, highlighted what belonging means in practice: “At its heart, belonging is about people feeling seen, heard and valued for who they truly are. That’s why inclusion is a commitment we renew every day – in the conversations we have, the colleague journeys we design and the communities we build together.”

E.ON was recently named within the Sunday Times Best Place to Work list, alongside receiving the Spotlight Award as Best Place to Work for 16–34-year-olds. This independent recognition is based on colleague feedback, which is something Bradbury describes as essential: “They confirm that we are building a workplace where people feel respected and safe, and where they can grow their careers with confidence.”

Tangible progress for colleagues and customers

The Powering Belonging report outlines key developments across the organisation, including:

  • 1,300 apprentices supported across more than 90 programmes since 2018
  • Growing colleague networks, connecting thousands across the business
  • Policies designed for real lives: from enhanced parental leave and support for carers to adjustments for colleagues with non-visible disabilities
  • Continued development of wellbeing initiatives and inclusive leadership training

Bradbury notes that these commitments underpin the company’s purpose: “By embedding inclusion and wellbeing across our workforce, we are building the foundations of fairness at work and for our customers. That is how we translate purpose into everyday progress.”

Inclusion powering the energy transition

E.ON’s 2025 report builds on wider work already underway across the business to make energy fairer and more accessible, from support for working families and inclusive colleague networks, to partnerships focused on tackling inequality and designing cleaner, more equitable energy solutions. As Norbury emphasises, this progress is essential to ensuring the energy transition leaves no one behind: “Belonging drives innovation, trust and resilience - qualities our sector and our society need now more than ever.”
