We’re welcoming our newest degree apprentices
Every year, a new intake of degree apprentices embarks on their career at E.ON, and this week, we’re delighted to have welcomed another 14 new colleagues onto our award-winning scheme.
Each degree apprentice will undertake an exciting four or five-year apprenticeship where they’ll explore our business through a series of placements, giving them a valuable insight into the world of energy and sustainability while building a network of colleagues across the company. At the same time, they’ll be working towards their chosen degree, which is fully funded by E.ON.
At the end of their first week, we spoke to some of our new colleagues about their first impressions and why they chose E.ON. Here’s what they had to say:
Amy Cooper, Project Management Degree Apprentice, said: “One of the reasons I chose E.ON is because the welcoming and friendly corporate culture immediately appealed to me. There is a wealth of opportunity and chance for growth in a multitude of pathways as well as the continual strive for sustainable and ethical practice combined with value for employee welfare.”
Ben Milligan, Electro-mechanical Degree Apprentice, added: “I chose to pursue my apprenticeship with E.ON because of the new, innovative ways that they are pushing towards meeting sustainability goals, especially after researching all of the cutting-edge projects that they have been a part of in the past, something I really wanted to be a part of. Since my open day they have ticked all the boxes with the levels of support and guidance we’ve been given, and it’s made me feel really comfortable and excited to work for the company.”
Oluwatomi Ologunoye, Data Scientist Degree Apprentice: “I joined E.ON because compared to my other offers, the workplace environment was much more accommodating and welcoming with all the employees being easy to approach and talk to. As someone who aspires to become an excellent data scientist, being in a collaborative environment is very important to me, so this makes E.ON the best place to be.”
We’re proud to have recently been named The Sunday Times’ Best Place to Work for young people and are keen to ensure our colleagues have the best possible start to their careers at E.ON.
From Project Management, Digital Marketing, Digital Technology and Electro-mechanical engineering, to Accountancy and Taxation and Mechatronics, we offer a range of options to suit a whole host of skills and green career aspirations. And new for this year, we’ve introduced Control Systems Engineering too.
Our recent research (1) shows that one in five (19%) school leavers plan to do an apprenticeship or degree apprenticeship and we’re proud to be recognised as one of the best apprenticeship employers in the UK, according to reviews and feedback submitted by our own apprentices to Higherin.
We’re excited to welcome our new colleagues and wish them all the very best on their degree apprenticeships with us.
