Webinar Spotlight: How E.ON unlocks the potential of LGBTQIA+ early‑career talent

Building a cleaner, greener energy system goes hand in hand with creating a workplace where everyone feels safe to be themselves.

On 5th February 2026, E.ON is hosting a dedicated webinar for students and early-career talent to explore what it’s really like to be queer and thriving at E.ON. The session will feature real stories from LGBTQIA+ colleagues and allies , shining a light on how inclusive cultures help people do their best work and play a vital role in shaping the energy transition.

Creating space to be yourself

Inclusion isn’t a side initiative. It’s fundamental to how we attract, support and grow the people who will lead the green future. The webinar will feature Matthew, a Project Management Degree Apprentice, alongside Bal, an Early Careers Expert at E.ON. Together, they’ll share honest perspectives on navigating the workplace as LGBTQIA+ individuals/allies, the support networks available, and how inclusive leadership makes a tangible difference to confidence, progression and wellbeing.

E.ON Queer Student Day Webinar - FINAL

From employee networks to allyship, inclusive policies and visible role models, the session will explore how E.ON is working to ensure that young talent feels seen, heard and valued from day one.

Why inclusion matters to the energy transition

Solving the complex challenges of climate change demands a workforce that brings diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. At E.ON, we believe that when people can show up as their whole selves, they’re better equipped to innovate, collaborate and drive meaningful change.

That’s why our commitment to diversity and inclusion is deeply embedded across our organisation — from early careers and apprenticeships to senior leadership. It’s also reflected in our external recognition, including being named one of the UK’s most inclusive employers and a British Diversity Awards winner.

Supporting early careers talent

The webinar is part of E.ON’s wider focus on building inclusive pathways into the energy sector, particularly for students and early-career professionals who may not always see themselves represented in STEM or energy roles.

Attendees will have the chance to hear directly from those who’ve been there, ask questions, and gain insight into how E.ON supports LGBTQIA+ colleagues throughout their careers — not just during Pride month, but all year round.

Powering a future for everyone

As we continue to lead the transition to sustainable energy, we know that people are our greatest strength. By fostering a culture where difference is celebrated and inclusion is intentional, we’re not only supporting our colleagues — we’re strengthening our ability to build a greener, fairer future for everyone.
