Notts Pride 2025

Showing up at Pride and why inclusion is culture at E.ON

For the third year in a row, we proudly sponsored and marched in Notts Pride, standing shoulder to shoulder with our LGBTQIA+ colleagues and community. And this year, it felt more powerful than ever.

We can only deliver the energy transition if we’ve the right people at the heart of our business. That’s why actively creating a workplace where everyone can thrive means more than policies and platitudes — it means showing up, speaking out, and celebrating the full spectrum of human identity.

This year’s Pride celebration in Nottingham was a vibrant reminder of the power of community, visibility, and shared purpose. From start to finish, the day was filled with energy, colour, and a true sense of connection. Our E.ON team showed up in full spirit — dressed in bold colours and carrying the message of inclusion with pride. The atmosphere was electric as we joined the parade, waving flags and sharing smiles with thousands of others who gathered to celebrate love and identity.

Matthew Barrett, Degree Project Management Apprentice, and member of the Pride network, shared: “Organising Pride appearances has always been a dream for me, and I’m very proud that this has been part of my role for the last six months. Being seen, celebrated, and supported not just as a colleague, but as my full self? That’s a feeling I’ll never stop being grateful for."

These are the moments that define what it means to build an inclusive workplace culture — one where authenticity isn't just accepted, it's championed.

Why Pride isn’t just a day — it’s a signal

Amongst all the rainbow flags, representation is only meaningful when it's backed by action. Pride is more than a parade; it’s a reflection of who we are and who we strive to be as a business: visible, vocal, and values-led.

“DEI initiatives can be tough to quantify,” said Callum Lovett, Obligation Governance & Controls Manager and one of the driving forces behind E.ON’s Pride Network. “But when you’re walking through the heart of Nottingham, surrounded by people smiling, dancing, and connecting under a banner of inclusion and pride, the impact is undeniable.”

Our participation at Notts Pride, led by our Pride network and colleagues across departments and roles, showcases the kind of culture we’re building at E.ON: one where purpose meets people. And we know that representation and inclusion are key drivers of both employee engagement and talent attraction.

Our Pride network also won The British Diversity Awards LGBTQIA+ Network of the Year 2025, which further solidifies how impactful our ongoing commitment to inclusion, visibility, and advocacy is within both our organisation and the wider community.

Why this matters for the future of work

In today’s world of work, people are looking for a purpose. They want to be part of organisations that reflect their values, that recognise their identities, and that prioritise their wellbeing.

We understand that Pride isn’t just about one day or one parade. It’s about embedding inclusion into the fabric of our culture, and that includes championing spaces like the E.ON Pride Network, which gives voice, visibility, and support to our LGBTQIA+ colleagues year-round.

Events like Notts Pride aren’t side projects or nice-to-haves — they’re strategic tools that help us build stronger teams, foster innovation, and retain incredible talent. They show the world who we are and what we stand for. E.ON was also named the  by The Sunday Times, highlighting our inclusive, forward-thinking, and purpose-driven culture

To everyone who joined us, stopped by our stall, or marched with us — thank you. Notts Pride is a community-powered, charity-led event, and we’re honoured to be part of it.
