E.ON Next to save households up to £470 a year with free Cavity wall & Loft Insulation package

  • E.ON Next is expanding support for households that are eligible for support through the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS)
  • Where suitable, eligible homeowners or private renters will now be offered free loft and cavity wall insulation in combination, a package worth up to £3,600

E.ON Next has boosted its Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) offering, with eligible customers set to benefit from additional bill savings and greater energy efficiency.

GBIS is a government insulation scheme aiming to help eligible UK homeowners or private renters make their homes more energy efficient.

Recent consultation on GBIS by the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ), found almost all respondents felt households should be able to receive both loft and cavity wall insulation. The scheme has subsequently been expanded to permit the installation of the two measures in combination.

E.ON Next has now confirmed it is offering a Dual Measure package (loft and cavity walls) for eligible homes, worth up to £3,600*.

Customers who take up the improved offer can expect to save up to £470** annually on their energy bills, with the measures significantly reducing household heat loss by up to 57%.

Each installation will also save approximately 1,250kg of carbon dioxide annually***.

Ramona Vlasiu, Chief Operating Officer, E.ON Next, said: “A well-insulated home is an effective way to increase comfort and reduce bills by keeping homes warmer for longer. This expansion to our GBIS offering will be welcome news to those who wish to improve their homes but may not have the funds to do it themselves.

“With the benefits of added value to the home, increased energy efficiency, reduced bills and much-improved environmental impact, we are thrilled to be able to offer our new Dual Measure package to eligible customers.”

All installations are performed by TrustMark-endorsed suppliers, with a 25-year guarantee on the work, giving customers peace of mind.

The Dual Measure package is the energy supplier’s most comprehensive offering. If the home requires only one insulation measure, it could be eligible for cavity wall insulation or discounted roof and loft insulation - with potential savings of £240 a year.

Notes to editors

All improvements are subject to a home survey and terms and conditions. Any extra work, such as scaffolding, may come with an additional cost. While loft insulation is free as part of the combined package, it may require a customer contribution when installed on its own.

* Energy Saving Trust: Grant value is based on Energy Saving Trust typical installation cost. This may not accurately reflect the actual subsidy of your specific installation, which could be higher or lower. The grant amount is estimated based on insulating a gas-heated home with a totally uninsulated Cavity Wall and Loft (0mm) with 270mm of loft insulation. The recommended depth of mineral wool insulation is 270mm, but other materials need different depths.

** Estimated savings are based on Energy Saving Trust average calculations published in January 2025 based on insulating a semi-detached gas-heated home (Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation) with gas prices set at 6.29 p/kW in England, Scotland and Wales. energysavingtrust.org.uk.
