E.ON is proud to receive multiple nominations at the 2026 TLC Lions Human Awards
E.ON has once again been recognised among the UK’s most human-centred organisations, earning multiple nominations in this year’s TLC Lions Human Awards.
Following last year’s double win, when E.ON was crowned Human Company of the Year and our embRace Network won Employee Network of the Year, we’ve continued to demonstrate what it means to lead with empathy, inclusion and authenticity.
The 2026 shortlist, announced this week by TLC Lions, celebrates leaders and organisations redefining workplace culture through courage, connection and compassion. E.ON’s strong presence across multiple categories underlines its ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where every colleague can thrive.
E.ON has been shortlisted in five major categories this year:
C Suite Leader
Anthony Ainsworth, Chief Operating Officer, I&C at E.ON UK
“This category gives recognition to extraordinary CEOs, nominated by their employees, for championing, implementing and successfully integrating a truly human approach across all departments, levels, processes, and practices of their organisation.”
Human Ally Of The Year
Vernon Skanes, Smart New Connections Manager at E.ON UK
“This category recognises an individual who has shown immense courage in sharing their own story internally at work. A Human storyteller breaks down barriers, empowers others to have a voice and in doing so, drives a more human culture in their workplace.”
Future Human Leader of the Year
Samantha Woods - Strategic Growth & Acquisitions Associate at E.ON UK
“This category uncovers and champions rising stars within an organisation, nominated by company employees, for being model human citizens, advocates, and allies. This individual may be from a graduate through to mid-management level and are courageously stepping up to be a human colleague and leader within their own team.”
Employee Network/Resource Group of the Year
adaptABILITY
This recognition reflects the network’s compelling work in supporting colleagues with visible and invisible disabilities, long-term health conditions and carers. Led by board sponsor Anthony Ainsworth and backed by a strong community of lived-experience advocates, the network champions four guiding principles: Awareness, Allyship, Assistance, and Accessibility.
LGBT+ & Friends Network
E.ON’s LGBT+ & Friends Network has also been recognised for creating a safe, visible and empowering space for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies. From Pride celebrations and community engagement to policy input and personal storytelling campaigns, the group continues to drive a culture of belonging throughout the organisation.
Human Company of the Year
E.ON UK
For the second consecutive year, E.ON is shortlisted for Human Company of the Year, which is one of the most prestigious categories at the awards. This nomination reflects our people-first ethos, inclusive leadership culture, and the sustained investment in listening to colleagues and responding with meaningful action.
Building a more human workplace
Our recognition across categories is the result of years of work to place human experience at the heart of our strategy. From leadership programmes that build empathy and emotional intelligence, to employee networks and listening groups that surface lived experiences, we continue to focus on inclusion, wellbeing and belonging.
E.ON’s nominations also reflect the power of storytelling and allyship, which are two themes central to the TLC Lions awards. Whether it’s through our employee networks, leaders, or future changemakers, E.ON continues to show that being a “human company” isn’t just an accolade but a way of working.
Winners of the 2026 TLC Lions Human Awards will be announced later this year, and for E.ON, the nominations alone are a powerful acknowledgment of the company’s ongoing journey to build a workplace grounded in respect, care and connection.
