Nicola Dormer

E.ON colleagues recognised in 2026 INvolve Empower Role Model List

Two colleagues have been recognised on the 2026 EMpower Role Model List, celebrating leaders who are driving greater ethnic diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Nicola Dormer, Customer Experience Designer and Chair of E.ON's embRace network and npower Business Solutions, Victor Chambers, Complaints Department Manager, have both been recognised for their commitment to creating opportunities for others, challenging barriers and helping colleagues feel they belong.

Their recognition reflects E.ON's continued commitment to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can contribute, grow and thrive. As we continue to make new energy work for everyone, creating an environment where people from all backgrounds can succeed is essential to delivering the energy transition for our customers, our communities and our business.

Championing inclusion through embRace

As Chair of embRace, Nicola has helped grow the network into the largest employee resource group across E.ON's UK and European operations. Under her leadership, the network has introduced initiatives including a career development programme for ethnically diverse colleagues, Speed Mentoring, and strengthened executive sponsorship and governance to support its continued growth.

Reflecting on the recognition, Nicola said: "I was genuinely surprised and incredibly honoured. Like many people involved in inclusion work, you don't do it for recognition, you do it because you want to make a difference.

"Being named on the EMpower Role Model List feels like recognition not just of my contribution, but of the collective efforts of everyone who's been part of embRace. It's a reminder that when people come together with a shared purpose, they can create meaningful and lasting change."

For Nicola, creating an inclusive workplace is about ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed and contribute their best. She said: "We spend such a significant part of our lives at work, so it's important that people feel they belong, are valued for who they are, and have equitable opportunities to develop and succeed.

"As Chair of embRace, I've been driven by the belief that representation matters and that creating more inclusive workplaces benefits everyone. I also think about the legacy we're creating for future colleagues and generations, and I want to help build an environment where people can see themselves reflected in leadership and feel confident that they can reach their potential."

Looking back on the impact of her work, Nicola believes the greatest achievement goes beyond programmes and initiatives.

She said: "I'm proud of what we've achieved through embRace over the last few years. We've grown the network into the largest employee resource group across E.ON's UK and European operations, launched initiatives like our career development programme for ethnically diverse colleagues and Speed Mentoring, and strengthened the network with executive sponsorship and governance that will help it continue to grow.

"But beyond the programmes and numbers, I hope the biggest impact has been creating opportunities, building confidence and helping colleagues feel seen, heard and supported. If even one person has felt more able to be themselves or progress in their career because of something we've done, that's something I'm incredibly proud of."

Recognising inclusive leadership

Victor Chambers, Complaints Department Manager, has also been recognised on the 2026 EMpower Role Model List for his commitment to championing inclusion and creating a culture where colleagues can bring their whole selves to work.

Watch Victor share what this recognition means to him and why creating an inclusive workplace matters:

Inspiring others to make a difference

Offering advice to anyone looking to become a positive role model for inclusion, Nicola said: "Start where you are and don't underestimate the impact you can have. You don't need a formal leadership role to make a difference. Listen to people's experiences, be curious, speak up when something doesn't feel right, and use your influence, however big or small, to create opportunities for others.
"Inclusion isn't about having all the answers; it's about being willing to learn, collaborate and keep showing up. Small, consistent actions often have a bigger impact than we realise."

Congratulations to Nicola and Victor on this well-deserved recognition. Their leadership demonstrates the power of colleagues to create positive change, foster belonging and help others reach their potential. By championing inclusion and ensuring diverse perspectives are represented, they're helping build the workforce that will deliver the energy transition and create a better energy future for everyone.
