E.ON celebrates award-winning colleagues on International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, E.ON is celebrating three colleagues whose leadership and dedication have been recognised with major industry awards.

Across the organisation, women are helping shape a more inclusive workplace and driving positive change for colleagues and customers alike. Today, we highlight three individuals whose achievements reflect that impact.

Laura Wattley: In-House Lawyer of the Year

Award Winning Women IWD (1)

Laura has tirelessly shared her story and experience, using her voice and her position as co-chair of the Fertility Forum network to drive meaningful change. Her work has helped shape E.ON’s Fertility Guide, introduced Fertility Friends with lived experience to support colleagues on their own fertility journeys, and led to the introduction of unlimited paid fertility leave for both partners.

At the Inspirational Women in Law Awards in November 2025, Laura was recognised for championing wellbeing. Judges commended her for “setting a new standard for empathy and inclusion within the legal and energy sectors”.

Ramona Vlasiu: Woman of the Year

Award Winning Women IWD

Ramona is a visible and inspiring role model. Taking on her current Board role while on maternity leave, she demonstrates that it is possible to prioritise both family and career.

As Chief Operating Officer of E.ON Next, Ramona leads a team of around 8,000 colleagues across contact centres, credit management and net-zero delivery. Known for leading with authenticity and vulnerability, she empowers and trusts her team to deliver for customers.

Her impact was recognised when she was named Woman of the Year at the 2025 Women in Utilities Awards.

Sam Woods: Future Human Leader of the Year

Award Winning Women IWD (2)

As Chair and founding member of the Fast Forward network, Sam’s leadership was recently recognised at the TLC Lions Awards. Judges praised a leadership style that “is human, grounded, and completely focused on removing barriers.”

Sam says: ‘One small but powerful thing colleagues can start doing tomorrow is to slow down and really listen. Ask an extra thoughtful question in meetings. Notice who hasn’t spoken yet. Follow up afterwards with someone who seemed hesitant. Publicly recognise someone’s contribution. These micro-moments of empathy and inclusivity matter more than we often realise.’

Through Fast Forward, Sam has helped shape learning journeys, led valuable listening sessions and championed flexible working, supporting colleagues across the organisation.

Supporting women across E.ON

Alongside celebrating individual achievements, E.ON continues to invest in initiatives that support women across the organisation. These include employee networks such as Fast Forward, policies that promote flexible working and family support, and programmes designed to help develop diverse leadership pipelines.

At E.ON, people are central to delivering the energy transition. By supporting and empowering colleagues from all backgrounds, E.ON aims to create an environment where talent can thrive and where diverse perspectives help drive innovation, stronger decision-making and better outcomes for customers.

Celebrating women who drive change

Laura, Sam and Ramona each demonstrate how individual leadership and commitment can create meaningful, lasting change. E.ON is proud to celebrate their achievements and the contributions of women across the organisation who are helping build a more inclusive and diverse energy sector.
