E.ON welcomes government support and calls for low‑carbon heating solutions

Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, said:

“We welcome steps taken by Government to support people with their energy bills by providing £50m for low-income households reliant on heating oil. At the same time, we must consider how to cut bills now and in the future while increasing energy security in the long term.

“By investing the same amount of money in heat pumps and combining it with the Government’s existing heat pump grant, more than 8,600 low-income households could end their reliance on expensive oil and have access to efficient, low-carbon energy.

“Before the start of the recent conflict in the Middle East, households with an old, G-rated oil boiler could already save an average of £280 annually.”
