Vision Zero in action: E.ON celebrates champions of safety, wellbeing and communication at the 2025 Safe & Well Awards
E.ON has honoured colleagues across the UK who go above and beyond to make safety and wellbeing part of everyday life, reflecting our bold Vision Zero ambition to ensure everyone goes home safe and well, every single day.
At this year’s Safe and Well Awards, colleagues were recognised not only for their contributions to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) priorities, but for living the Safe & Well behaviours that shape a culture of care, accountability and inclusion across our business.
Charlotte Lack, Head of Safe and Well at E.ON said: “These initiatives don’t just make us a safer place to work – they set a benchmark for our industry, empower our colleagues to better serve customers, and help build stronger, healthier communities. By Championing Vision Zero, we’re leading the way to a future where safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do and where our commitment to care and accountability helps earns the trust of our customers, partners and communities.”
A shared commitment to eliminating harm
Opening the ceremony, Helen Bradbury, Chief People Officer, reaffirmed the importance of our Vision Zero mission: “Safety and wellbeing are fundamental to our business. We wouldn’t be in business without it – it’s that important to us. Imagine a workplace where everyone experiences zero harm and goes home safe and well every single day. Our colleagues are making it possible.”
Launched earlier this year, Vision Zero is E.ON’s commitment to eliminating harm at work and driving a culture where wellbeing, psychological safety and accountability are central to how we operate. This means more than rules or compliance. It’s about consistency, personal ownership and visible leadership at every level.
Helen highlighted five essentials for achieving Vision Zero:
- Consistency and commitment: We can and will reach zero harm.
- Visible leadership: Role modelling safe behaviours throughout the organisation.
- Shared responsibility: Safety and wellbeing are everyone’s responsibility.
- Prioritise preparation and foresight: Good preparation leads to good outcomes, with planning and risk prevention as core practices.
- Drive decisions with data: Insights and evidence guide our safety strategies, ensuring decisions are informed and impactful.
