PRICE ALERT: E.ON Next updates fixed tariffs to give customers greater confidence at an uncertain time

Next Fixed 12m price drop, new Next Smart Saver rates and an improved Next Pledge offer give customers more choice amid energy prices worries.

E.ON Next has refreshed some of its tariffs, providing households with more options to suit their different energy needs and usage patterns.

Tariff detail:

Next Fixed 12m v116 is now priced at £1,765 (previously £1,781) for a typical household using gas and electricity, with a £50 per fuel exit fee.

Next Smart Saver v15 will be priced at £1,764 for a typical household, with no exit fees if a customer’s circumstances change.

Next Smart Saver aims to encourage customers to take control of their energy by shifting usage away from peak times to cheaper off-peak times of day. Next Smart Saver is a 12-month fixed-term tariff with three electricity rates:

  • Off-peak (5am-4pm, 7pm-2am), costing 22.75 p/kWh.
  • Super off-peak rates (2am-5am), costing 16.43 p/kWh.
  • Peak (4pm-7pm), costing 43.41 p/kWh.

In addition, Next Pledge offers customers savings of £100 against the energy price cap based on average annual consumption – double what it previously offered.

E.ON Next Pledge 12m v10 is a 12-month fixed-term product, with prices that automatically adjust each quarter to remain below the price cap. Customers on the Next Pledge tariff will see the rate alter in line with the new Energy Price Cap. This tariff has exit fees of £25 per fuel.

E.ON Next has also confirmed it will pass on every penny of savings announced by the government last Autumn to its customers. From 1 April, E.ON Next customers on a fixed or variable tariff will automatically see their energy bills come down.

Notes to editors

Next Smart Saver: a 12-month fixed term tariff with lower off-peak (5am–4pm, 7pm–2am) and super off-peak (2am–5am) unit rates versus our standard variable tariff. Savings depend on your electricity usage and when it occurs. T&Cs apply. Standard variable tariff used for comparison may vary over time.

Next Pledge is a 12-month fixed term tracker tariff with variable rates that are always lower in comparison to the Ofgem Price Cap, that applies to standard variable tariffs. £100 saving is applied as a reduction on unit rates split across both electricity and gas (£50 saving per fuel) based on Ofgem average dual fuel customer. Actual savings depend on usage. Payment by Direct Debit required. There is an exit fee of £25 per fuel type. T&Cs apply.
