PRICE ALERT: E.ON Next doubles what customers can save compared to the Energy Price Cap

  • Households are set to save a further £50 on the average energy bill through the Next Pledge tariff
  • E.ON Next customers can now save £100 compared to the new price cap (for Apr-Jun 2026), based on average annual consumption
  • Move aims to give customers more confidence amid a volatile wholesale market

E.ON Next is giving customers more control over their energy bills by offering a £100 saving below the new Energy Price Cap, which will take effect from 1 April.

On 25 February, Ofgem announced the new price cap would be £1,641 for a typical household using electricity and gas and paying by Direct Debit, between 1 April and 30 June 2026.

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, said, “Many people will be looking for reassurance as the wholesale markets react to conflict in the Middle East. We want to do everything we can to provide this and help alleviate anxiety around energy bills. That’s why we’ve doubled what E.ON Next customers can save through our Next Pledge tariff, giving them greater confidence in uncertain times.”

E.ON Next Pledge 12m v10 is a 12-month fixed-term product, with prices that automatically adjust each quarter to remain below the price cap. From 1 April, the tariff will be priced at £1,541 for average annual consumption. Customers on the Next Pledge tariff will see the rate alter in line with the new Energy Price Cap. This tariff has £25 per fuel exit fees.

Notes to editors

Next Pledge is a 12-month fixed term tracker tariff with variable rates that are always lower in comparison to the Ofgem Price Cap, that applies to standard variable tariffs. £100 saving is applied as a reduction on unit rates split across both electricity and gas (£50 saving per fuel) based on Ofgem average dual fuel customer. Actual savings depend on usage. Payment by Direct Debit required. There is an exit fee of £25 per fuel type. T&Cs apply.
