E.ON colleagues attended the Women and Work APPG International Women’s Day Fair at the House of Commons, sharing the Inclusion Report Powering Belonging and discussing the company’s industry-leading inclusion policies.
Colleagues from across E.ON UK were proud to attend the Women and Work APPG International Women’s Day Fair at the House of Commons, joining organisations from across industry to celebrate progress on gender equality and share ideas for building more inclusive workplaces.
Representing E.ON UK at the event were Louise Gilmore, Claire Westwood, Natalie Round and Samantha Woods, who spent the day speaking with MPs, policymakers and fellow organisations about how inclusion and diversity are helping to power the UK’s energy transition.
The team showcased E.ON UK’s 2025 Inclusion Report, Powering Belonging, which highlights the company’s continued commitment to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive and feel they belong.
Claire Westwood, Head of Field Operations, Net Zero Delivery at E.ON Next, said: “It was a really inspiring and energetic session, and a great opportunity to showcase the work E.ON UK is doing to support inclusion. Our latest inclusion report is something we’re incredibly proud of, and it was fantastic to be able to share it with the attendees.
“A particular moment of pride for me was hearing MPs speak about the progress still needed and the policy changes required. It was incredibly positive to be able to say that in all of the areas mentioned, E.ON UK has already taken action and is leading the way.”
Conversations throughout the day focused on how building inclusive teams strengthens innovation, leadership and decision-making across the energy sector.
Louise Gilmore, Policy Advocacy Manager, said: “Bringing together organisations, policymakers and industry leaders at the House of Commons is an important way to share ideas on how we build more inclusive workplaces. We believe people power the energy transition, and our Powering Belonging Inclusion Report shows how inclusion helps drive innovation and progress across the sector.”
Colleagues also spoke about the company’s role in helping customers and communities take practical steps towards a lower-carbon future. We’re helping homes, businesses and communities lead the energy transition not just in theory, but in practice. Through initiatives such as solar and battery storage solutions, smart tariffs, apprenticeships and place-based energy strategies, E.ON is helping customers reduce costs while supporting sustainability and long-term energy resilience.
The event also gave the team a chance to highlight how people power this progress. From engineers and apprentices to customer service teams and community partners, it’s the expertise, passion and collaboration of our people that enable the company to deliver new energy solutions across the UK.
Natalie Round, Corporate Content Manager, said: “It was my first time visiting the House of Commons, and it was a powerful reminder not only of the opportunities available to women today, but also of the work that still needs to be done to achieve true equality. I was incredibly proud to be speaking with peers about our Inclusion report, and to highlight that E.ON’s policies are already industry-leading. We’re committed to setting the standard for what a modern workplace should look and feel like.”
Samantha Woods, Strategic Growth & Acquisitions Associate, added: “Bringing different perspectives together in this way is vital for sharing evidence, challenging thinking and shaping practical solutions that improve outcomes for everyone. The event was a great reminder that meaningful change happens when industry and government come together to collaborate, share best practice and keep pushing the conversation forward.”
By attending the Women and Work APPG International Women’s Day Fair, we reaffirmed our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to, and benefit from, the energy transition.
