E.ON Next cuts overnight EV charging to less than 7p - the cheapest way to charge your car at home
- Next Drive Smart now offers the lowest off-peak EV charging rate of any major supplier at 6.9p/KWh between 12am and 6am, while Next Drive Fixed drops to 8.5p/KWh.
- Both EV tariffs will save customers, on average, £462 and £423 respectively against the current energy price cap.
EV drivers charging at home overnight can now pay less than any other major supplier's tariff*, after E.ON Next has repriced its Next Drive Smart tariff.
The off-peak rate has been reduced to 6.9p/KWh between 12am and 6am, saving drivers up to £462 a year compared to charging on the energy price cap**.
E.ON Next has also reduced its Next Drive Fixed tariff, cutting the off-peak rate to 8.5p/KWh.
For drivers with a home charger, that means lower energy bills without using less energy overall - just shifting charging to overnight.
Gráinne Regan, Propositions Director at E.ON Next, said: “As more households switch to electric, we want charging at home to be simple, affordable and something drivers don't have to think twice about.
“Next Drive Smart makes charging an EV one of the cheapest habits a household can have. We want every driver to see real savings from day one and to make the switch to electric feel like the smart, easy choice it should be.”
