E.ON brings global energy innovators to London

E.ON hosted the Master Module of the 10th edition of Free Electrons, the global energy start-up accelerator, in London from 14 to 17 September.

The four-day event brought together the programme’s Top 15 start-ups alongside seven leading energy companies from around the world, creating an opportunity to turn conversations into action, develop real-world use cases, explore potential projects and strengthen partnerships that will continue beyond the programme.

Opening the event, E.ON UK Chief Executive Chris Norbury – pictured on stage above left – reiterated our purpose in the UK of making energy affordable and sustainable, with a commitment to making new energy work for everyone.

Start-ups can bring fresh thinking, new technologies and different approaches to some of the energy sector’s toughest challenges. E.ON’s role as a partner is to help turn promising ideas into practical solutions by combining innovation with the scale and expertise needed to make a significant impact on lowering bills.

Across four days, start-ups and energy companies moved from preliminary presentations into focused one-to-one meetings and collaborative sessions, exploring where ideas could solve genuine business and customer challenges and the steps needed to take them further.

To make new energy work for everyone, scale matters. The opportunity isn’t simply to find something new, but to find solutions that work in the real world, can reach more people and ultimately help lower bills and give customers better control of their energy.
